Free Home Water Assessment

What Is A Free Home Water Assessment?

At the customer's request, a City staff Water Resource Specialist visits the site, checks for indoor leaks and the flow rates of toilets, showers and faucets. The auditor provides a report with water saving recommendations. Assessments can be performed in homes, condominiums, town homes and/or apartments.

Why Have a Free Home Water Assessment?

Customers with high water usage or unusually high water usage for one or more billing periods benefit from the assessments by identifying leaks or water wasting fixtures/appliances then fixing the problem before it gets worse. Leaks are the biggest indoor water wasters. A leaking faucet can waste up to 13 gallons per day!

Who Can Participate?

Any residential water customer of Santa Monica is eligible.

How Do I Apply for a Free Home Water Assessment?
